The project was originally announced on Ma as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Tonic's first album, Lemon Parade, with recording and production immediately after the announcement.
In L.A. Emerson Hart, Jeff Russo, Dan Rothchild, and Kevin Shepard formed post-grunge band Tonic. They signed to Atlas records in and immediatley hit the studios to work on debut album Lemon Parade They would produce two singles from this album. In , “Open Up Your Eyes” and in , “If You Could Only See” which was very successful, and was the most played song on rock.
Lemon Parade is Tonic's first album, released in The album has sold 1,, copies to date, and reached platinum status in the United States. Tonic released a live EP with enhanced material called Live and Enhanced based on the success of this album. 'If You Could Only See' was a hit single on the BillboardMainstream Rock Tracks charts reaching number one, and also reached number 11 on.
